A veteran of the music scene, sings, plays, and writes, but mostly is the dad of these two Indie kids, and is so happy to be performing with them. Dan has a long history of performing all over the country. With one CD under his belt, hundreds of shows, and having performed with some of the biggest names in music including Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, and Lee Brice, Dan decided to take a few years off to spend time with his indiekids. Now that they have matured into their own performers, the time was perfect to start performing again. Together they now make up the foundation for this unique group.
The grandson of an Italian accordion-maker, the son of a country music lover and a teacher of French and Spanish, David draws his musical influences from a variety of sources. He has traveled all over the globe in his pursuit of discovering new beats and melodies from distant musical landscapes. He is excited about laying down the low end in Indiekids Band and learning from his multigenerational bandmates! He also plays upright bass in the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest.
Nick Mizock was born in Chicago, Illinois and began playing guitar at the age of 11. By the age of 18 had already played professionally at Chicago Symphony Center and was a serious performer of rock, jazz, and classical guitar. Nick released his band Zock’s debut album in 2015 and in 2016 was featured on the band Magnetic’s debut EP, both receiving positive acclaim. In 2019 Nick received his master’s degree in studio guitar from the University of Southern California. His future plans are to release the Zock Organ Trio’s debut album and an album of Frank Zappa’s music arranged for classical guitar. Nick has performed at the Savannah and Chicago jazz festivals, and just about every major hotel in the Chicagoland area. He is excited to be part of the Indie Kids Band!
As the drummer!
The Indie Kids Band is a new 5-piece group led by 15-year-old twin, multi-instrumentalist sisters, Anna and Melody Reyes. They are backed up by their dad Dan Reyes and a great rhythm section. They play the best of today's pop indie music by great bands like The Lumineers, Elle King, Train, Vance Joy, Head and the Heart, and more.
